LG Mobile Phones says it is now offering creative minds a chance to help design a new mobile handset and it is
also offering cash incentives to achieve that goal.
LG is teaming up the competition along with Crowd Spring and Autodesk.
The contest rules are such that any U.S. resident age 18 and older can participate and compete for cash
awards in LG's new program.
Autodesk will supply participating designers with a free 15-day trial of SketchBook Pro, giving competitors (both
amateur and professional) access to professional design and engineering software such as Autodesk's venerable and
immensely popular AutoCad 3D software.
The 1st place will be awarded $20,000 cash, the second place gets $10,000 and the 3rd place will net $5,000.
Additionally, LG Mobile Phones will offer 40 honorable mentions of $1,000 and a free LG mobile phone.
Both seasoned and aspiring designers are invited to submit their entries by June 7 at www.crowdspring.com/LG.
Winners will be announced July 7 on LG's website.
And oh yes-- no purchase is necessary to participate in the contest.
