Canadian wireless subscribers are suing Bell Mobility and Telus.

The lawsuits are over having to pay for unwanted incoming text messages and related spam.

T-Mobile is currently facing similar litigation regarding its incoming text message fees.

But in Canada, these wireless operators had not been charging subscribers for incoming messages.

Rather, Bell Mobility and Telus opted to change their policies, instituting charges of 15 cents per incoming text for subscribers without a text messaging plan.

Wireless customers were angered and pushed to action when they found the fee would occur even if the text was spam or unwanted commercial advertisements.
