Apple says that in the thirty days since it opened the doors to its App Stores, its online software
clearinghouse, iPhone users reportedly have downloaded more than 60 million programs for the new
wireless handset.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs said his company has sold an average of $1 million a day in iPhone applications for
a total of about $30 million in sales over the month of July.
If sales continue at the same pace, Apple could earn roughly $360 million a year in new revenue from the
App Store.
According to Jobs, Apple is keeping only 30 percent of the proceeds from application sales while the programs'
creators keep the remaining 70 percent.
