Jessica Alena Smith, a very angry iPhone user is suing Apple because of design flaws and numerous
reception problems with her iPhone.
Smith is seeking a court order forcing Apple to repair or replace any parts that aren’t working as
advertised, plus unspecified monetary damages.
Some reports indicate that the iPhone’s problems are because of its Infineon chips or specific issues related
to AT&T’s network, but those companies are not part of the suit.
In the lawsuit, Smith notes that many other iPhone 3G users are reportedly having very similar problems.
The case deserves class-action status, she argues.
Apple says it has since released multiple firmware updates for the phone, the most recent coming last
weekend, which some customers said actually caused more problems.
At first, Apple didn't say which bugs the updates fix would repair, but finally confirmed 3G reception as
one of the issues.
To this date, Apple hasn't yet made any other public comments about the ongoing problems and could not be
reached yesterday about Smith’s lawsuit, which is usually the case in most litigation issues.
