Verizon Wireless is officially launching its new Blitz wireless handset, a feature phone designed for
heavy text messaging users.
Verizon added that it timed the launch of the Blitz just in time for back to school.
The new handset features a 2.2-inch screen with adjustable resolution, 1.3 MPx camera, a Web browser, 4
GB Micro-SD card slot, full GPS support and comes with links to music services.
The dual-mode phone is built by Pantech Wireless and was sold to Verizon by UT Starcom.
It has a slide-out Q-WERTY keyboard and a dedicated messaging button.
Previously known by the code name Elvis or simply referred to the TXT-8010, Blitz will retail for $69.99
after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year contract with Verizon.
