Dec. 14, 2007

Yesterday, MySpace and Sprint Wireless have announced a partnership that will make it easier for Sprint's customers to access MySpace's mobile site from their cell phones.

Sprint users will now have a direct link to MySpace mobile as well as News Corp.'s other mobile sites, including FOX-Sports.com, RottenTomatoes, AskMen and PhotoBucket.

MySpace's mobile site is currently in beta testing, and will be officially launched sometime in 2008.

Additionally, Sprint said that as part of its planned Wi-MAX launch in 2008, it had commitments from partners for new and innovative Wi-MAX products, including connection cards, Internet tablets, ultramobile PCs and other consumer electronic devices.

Overall, Sprint Wireless appears to be on track for its planned "soft launch" of its Wi-MAX service, called Xohm, around Dec. 21 in Chicago, Baltimore and Washington D.C.

Sprint employees will be able to test the new service with planned commercial launches later next year.
