Nokia has reportedly extended its U.S. distribution agreement with Brightpoint through the
end of next year.
Overall, Brightpoint is one of Nokia's largest customers worldwide.
Mark Howell, president of Brightpoint said "we are proud to strengthen our relationship with Nokia
and offer its ability to deliver industry-leading supply chain expertise."
Howell added "the extension of this agreement confirms our mutually beneficial long-standing relationship."
Michael Baker, v.p. and head of Nokia Ad Business said "mobile ads are an exploding growth area, and Nokia
is leading this industry worldwide to connect brands with customers."
Baker added "to be successful, particularly in the U.S., we're securing partnerships that can help us
reach the right audience. MocoSpace is a natural fit with a large community of its own."
Nokia also selected Brightpoint to manage its reseller program for online sales. The program enables
online sellers to purchase Nokia devices and mobile enhancements from Brightpoint via Nokia's online private
marketplace.
Brightpoint will manage product distribution and auctions through the online marketplace on behalf of Nokia,
as well as administer all order management and fulfillment steps for products sold through the marketplace.
MocoSpace says that it has more than 1.5 million users today, mostly in the United States.
In more partnership news, Nokia has announced a strategic advertising relationship with mobile
social networking site MocoSpace.
