Mobile television service Mobi-TV says that its overall subscribership is now more than 5 million users.

Mobi-TV's service is available to customers of AT&T, Sprint Nextel and Alltel.

About 1.07 million subscribers signed up since July, MobiTV officials said.

Recently, Mobi-TV began expanding into some vertical markets with its news Mobi-4-Biz service, while other rivals for children and sports fans are likely in the first half of next year.

MobiTV is also upgrading its video technology to a newer version.

The service certainly isn't new, as it began almost 10 years ago and continues to increase in popularity.

Investors include Adobe Systems, Heart Corp. and various other venture capital firms in the U.S.
