Verizon Wireless is really accelerating its wireless broadband network
service with EV-DO Revision A technology.
Verizon Wireless finally launched its next-generation high-speed wireless
broadband network in cities throughout the country.
With this move, Verizon Wireless is trailing CDMA competitor Sprint by
three months.
The upgraded network improves data upload and download speeds to 300-400
Kbps and 450-800 Kbps, respectively.
Based on CDMA 1XEV-DO Rev. A technology, the network enhancements will
launch initially in Massachusetts, including Boston and its suburbs.
It will also include the Richmond and Hampton Roads, Va., areas, Chicago and
its suburbs, Gary, Ind., Salt Lake City and other cities in Utah, as well
as throughout Florida in areas where Verizon Wireless’ broadband network is situated.
Along with the network launch, Verizon also announced its first Rev. A data card.
The Novotel Wireless EX720 ExpressCard will be available by late-February, according to Verizon.
This card will be able to take advantage of the faster network speeds.
