Today Yahoo launched its mobile advertising platform in 19 countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Yahoo's new service will help advertisers reach consumers on cell phones.
On average, a number of major advertisers have initially signed up to be part of the mobile launch,
and include companies such as Nissan, Pepsi and Intel.
The ads will appear on the Yahoo Mobile Web home page and can be clicked on so consumers learn more or
call the advertiser directly.
No word on to whom, exactly, those calls will be directed.
"We've had exceptional results reaching our consumers online," said John Vail, director of interactive
marketing for Pepsi-Cola North America.
"Now we can reach consumers when they're on the move and communicate with them in a way we haven't before,"
said Vail.
Yahoo's Mobile Web service is available on most mobile phones across major mobile operators.
The company also unveiled a streamlined Mobile Web homepage that makes it faster and easier for
consumers to search for content that interests them most.
