Today, Hewlett Packard has unveiled its new iPAQ 500 Voice Messenger smartphone, its latest handset
for enterprise users.
The iPAQ 500 offers the newest Windows Mobile operating system, integrated VoIP (Voice Over IP) capability
and extended battery life.
HP's new smartphone offers features designed to help business users become more productive throughout
the day, including more than twenty voice commands for hands-free operation.
With the voice commands, users can reply to emails, listen to emails and text messages, while navigating
through the phone.
By including a Wi-Fi radio on the iPAQ 500, users can set up a VoIP telephony system in lieu of a standard
office phone, or simply use it in order to access the Internet via a hotspot.
According to Hewlett Packard, the battery provides up to 6 hours of talk time.
Additionally, HP's smartphone features the Windows Mobile 6 media player, browser, camera and is tightly
integrated with Microsoft Exchange and Outlook Mobile e-mail.
It also enables users to edit and create Microsoft Office documents on the fly.
The iPAQ 500 will be available in late-March in the U.S. directly from HP.
