In two weeks, Dobson Cellular Systems will be changing its name in the Texas Panhandle and Western Oklahoma
to Cellular One.
Dobson has consistently used the Cellular One brand name, which it purchased in 2006, in its other markets.
This name change will make the branding across the company more uniform.
Chief Marketing Officer Tom Roberts said “the Dobson family name has a strong reputation in these areas
and nothing will change except the name on the door.”
“The time is right to make the name change in our Dobson Cellular markets," he added.
The towns of Anadarko, Carnegie, Cordell, Hinton, Weatherford, Clinton, Elk City and Chickasha, Okla.,
and Pampa, Borger and Perryton, Texas will be part of the name change.
Dobson Cellular Systems, which operates in 17 states in rural America, operates more than 70 wireless
markets nationwide under the Cellular One brand name.
