Bidding in Auction 73, which covers the nationwide C Block of 700 MHz spectrum licenses issued by the
Federal Communications Commission continues in stride and since yesterday moved to a 6-round daily format.
Overall, there weren't any new bids for the valuable nationwide service through Round 46 as of
yesterday morning.
Round 47 opened at 11 a.m., followed by additional rounds at 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Each round lasts exactly 25 minutes.
At the same time, total bids of $903.7 million reached the reserve price for the E Blocks in Round 44.
E Blocks represent 176 Economic Area licenses for 6 MHz spectrum.
House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman John Dingell is leading a group of lawmakers in
questioning the status of the D Block.
The D Block is nationwide but its winners will be required to open it for emergency services.
Frontline Wireless was the leader for that spectrum but dropped out and closed recently.
