Late yesterday, Verizon Wireless said that it is now offering a new voice plan, offering unlimited, anytime
calling in the U.S. for $99 a month.
Verizon also announced updated Broadband Access plans.
Starting March 2nd, users can sign up for monthly plans offering 50 MB of data per month for $39.99 or
5 GB of data per month for $59.99.
Mike Lanman, Verizon Wireless’ chief marketing officer said “We are changing the way customers think about
wireless. Verizon's new flat rate voice plans truly free customers from the worry of counting minutes, while
the new data plan options allow more customers to experience the freedom of mobile broadband.”
Verizon promises BroadbandAccess customers average download speeds of 600 kbps to 1.4 mbps and average
upload speeds of 500-800 kbps.
Lanman added “these new flat rate plans make mobile broadband more affordable than ever."
The wireless carrier also announced the availability of the Samsung SCH-u550 handset. This fashionable
clamshell includes a 1.3-megapixel, video-capable camera with Night Shot to enhance the camera’s capabilities
in dark environments, access to Verizon’s V CAST multimedia services and a MicroSD memory card slot.
The Samsung SCH-u550 is available today on Verizon’s Web site or at any Verizon store.
