Cellular South says it now offers a new photo sharing application for smartphone customers.
The service is a free, co-branded mobile photo sharing application and was developed with mobile
photo technology company iTookThisOnMyPhone.com.
According to Jeff Cook, product manager for messaging applications at Cellular South, he says its new
service doesn't conflict with its current photo-sharing service through Ontela, which is designed for feature
or lower-end mobile phones.
The new service addresses the long-time problem of what people do with their pictures once they’re on
their mobile phone.
Typically, smartphones offer higher resolution cameras and people who buy them tend to be more interested
in doing things other than make wireless phone calls with their devices, Cook noted.
CS' new service automatically gets the photos off the cell phone and to places where people can easily share
them, such as Facebook, Snapfish, YouTube, Flickr, Webshots and Picasa, plus a few more.
The application works with BlackBerry Pearl, Storm and Curve smartphones, and the HTC 6800, HTC Touch 6900 and
HTC Touch Diamond smartphones.
Those customers can automatically save their mobile photos to a password-protected Web site hosted by
iTookThisOnMyPhone.com.
Images can be managed directly on a handheld device or online, where users can share photos and videos with
friends, colleagues and family members.
