Sprint Nextel CDMA affiliate iPCS Inc. said it added 18,900 net wireless
customers in the quarter ended Dec. 31.
iPCS closed out the year with around 495,300 subscribers.
The regional carrier reported an average monthly churn rate for the quarter of 2.6 percent.
Compared with the previous quarter, the carrier's net customer adds were up 8.6 percent and churn was down from 2.7 percent.
iPCS merged with fellow Sprint Nextel CDMA affiliate Horizon Personal Communications Inc. in July, so year-over-year figures were not comparable.
iPCS indicated that it will release full financial results Feb. 6.
The operator offers service in a number of Midwestern states including Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa and Ohio and has licensed territory that covers about 15 million potential customers.
Its network covers more than 11 million people.
