AdMob reports that overall traffic from its network’s publishers has increased about 105 percent
over the past 12 months.
The number of advertisements it served just last month represents a 19.7 percent increase over May 2008.
With more than a 18.65 percent increase last month to 228 million, U.S. ad requests continued to increase,
the company said. Indonesian traffic more than doubled to 472 million requests, securing its status as AdMob's
second largest market.
This was driven primarily by new publishers in the AdMob network with significant Indonesian inventory.
On average, Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch showed strong growth as well, with ad impressions increasing by
32 percent worldwide to 52 million in June.
Other statistics released by the company include:
24.29 percent of ad requests from AdMob were from smartphones
Motorola lost share in each of the top 5 markets in June
Palm continued to grow and now represents about 2 percent of requests globally
Overall, the devices also maintained their No. 9 position in the top 10 global handset ranking.
