Various reports are coming in that customers of T-Mobile USA are suing the wireless company.
A ruling of a U.S. District Court judge who denied T-Mobile’s initial motion to dismiss the first lawsuit
filed by a group of disgruntled T-Mobile subscribers, claiming the operator charged them for unsolicited text messages,
now says that subscribers can now sue the company.
Currently, T-Mobile users have no way to disable their phones from receiving text messages, often in the
form of spam, and are forced to pay between 10 and 15 cents for every message, according to the complaint.
Hagens Berman, the legal firm representing the plaintiffs say that T-Mobile subscribers have very few options
for avoiding the charges for unwanted text messages.
Users can either continue receiving charges and pay for them, or terminate their wireless phone service
contract before completion, which can result in early termination fees (ETFs).
T-Mobile officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
