Convenience store chain 7-Eleven expanded its prepaid wireless program to more than 400 7-Eleven
stores in Singapore.
The move was decided after the success of a similar offering in the United States and Canada.
The prepaid wireless program is called 7-Connect/Singapore and is based on the North American 7-Eleven
SpeakOut Wireless program.
Developed by Ztar Mobile, of Dallas, the 7-Connect program uses the 3G network services of Singapore operator M-1.
The 7-Connect prepaid “Free Nights and Weekends” plan is available at $30 per month.
It features free local voice calls on nights and weekends, $10 bonus to use for other features such as SMS,
rates as low as 8 cents per minute, 5-cent local 2-way text messaging and 15-cent global 2-way text messaging.
It also features carry-forward minutes as well if the customer so chooses.
