But wait-- there's even more from the rumor mill this morning...
Danish magazine Mobil has apparently leaked a few photos of a forthcoming Android-based mobile phone from
Sony Ericsson!
Code-named “Rachel,” the new handset reportedly will expand on Sony Ericsson's existing XPERIA line and
be available some time in September or October.
According to Mobil, the new handset would run on Qualcomm's QSD-8250 Snapdragon platform, with processor
speeds up to 1 GHz, and HSPA-speeds up to 7.2 Mbps.
The new wireless handset comes equipped with an 8-megapixel camera with auto focus, a 3.5 mm headphone
jack, mini-USB connector and a highly responsive touch screen.
Photos of Sony Ericsson’s new Android mobile device come as the open source OS enjoys a flurry of recent
press. Last week, T-Mobile launched the myTouch 3G, the successor to T-Mobile’s first Android handset, the G1.
Rumors of Android-based Samsung and Motorola handsets also have been cited in recent months.
It will be interesting to see just how many of these rumors turn out to be true, and if so, to watch how the
various players attempt to sell their Android-based smartphones.
