Consumer electronics retailer Radio Shack announces a retail agreement with T-Mobile USA to offer wireless and
mobile services in a little over 4,030 Radio Shack stores across the U.S. beginning around August 21st.
The news come as T-Mobile looks to the retail launch of its new Android device, the MyTouch 3G from HTC.
The 3G is currently available by pre-order only to existing customers and will launch in retail locations,
presumably including RadioShack, on Aug. 5.
Overall, and in the past few months, RadioShack has done pretty good for itself with its postpaid offerings.
The consumer electronics retailer is currently an authorized reseller of Sprint, AT&T and Alltel Wireless phones
and other wireless plans.
Radio Shack's first-quarter earnings were higher, in part due to its wireless division, as well as customers
buying digital TV Set-Top converter boxes ahead of the federally mandated switch to a digital broadcast signal.
Radio Shack's agreement with T-Mobile also covers Puerto Rico.
