T-Mobile USA and RIM (Research In Motion) have confirmed that the new BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone will
be available on August 5.
The Wi-Fi-enabled 8520 features a touch-sensitive optical trackpad.
It also is the first BlackBerry Smartphone to feature dedicated media keys, which are integrated along the top of
the mobile handset, for playing music and videos.
The new smartphone will sell for $129 with a two-year contract and a qualifying data plan.
It will be available in two colors: black and frost. It also has the usual access to e-mail, messaging and
social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace, with a Qwerty keyboard.
On July 21, rumors about the retail release of the device surfaced on a few blogs.
