Apple is expected to announce an updated version of its very popular iPhone some time early next week.
The wireless industry is predicting that Steve Jobs will launch a next generation iPhone at Apple’s developers'
conference on June 9.
What's more, there are some rumors circulating that Apple could give way to industry pressure and allow
AT&T or other wireless carriers to subsidize the price of the iPhone.
If that happens, Apple could allow multiple carriers in one region to offer the handset.
The company has already announced multiple carrier partners in a few different countries on May 15.
The next generation version of the iPhone is expected to include support for 3G networks, corporate e-mail
and a host of other new third-party applications through its new application store.
