Anritsu is planning to help manufacturers get ready to evaluate the performance of their equipment based
on the IEEE 802.16e specification.
The T&M company has introduced the MX-370105A Mobile WiMAX IQ producer application software for its MG-3700A
vector signal generator.
Any mobile WiMAX waveform pattern recommended by the IEEE 802.16e standard, including Wireless MAN-OFDMA,
Medium Access Control Layer (MAC) and Physical (PHY) can be generated by the application software, according to
Anritsu.
The new technology also supports Mobile Certification Wave 2 and Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO)
waveform patterns, which are critical for evaluating downlink (RX) functions of mobile WiMAX equipment.
Before, multiple instruments were required to evaluate MIMO functions.
The MG-3700-A provides users with a single-instrument solution for analyzing signals of major wireless
communication systems.
Besides mobile WiMAX, it also outputs standards-based digital modulation signals for GSM/EDGE, W-CDMA, CDMA2000
1X/1X EV-DO, IEEE802.11a/b/g and ISDB-T1segment/BS/CS/CATV.
Bluetooth, GPS and W-LAN are also supported by the MG-3700-A.
