Western U.S. retailer Ultimate Electronics has dropped T-Mobile USA in favor of Verizon Wireless.

The consumer electronics chain said it will offer Verizon Wireless’ wares in 29 of its 32 stores in Colorado, Arizona, Kansas and several other states.

The announcement appears to mark a substantial expansion for Ultimate, which until recently had offered only a handful of phones from T-Mobile USA.

“Overall, Verizon Wireless is nationally recognized as the best and most reliable wireless carrier in the industry,” said Jim Pearse, Ultimate Electronics’ senior v.p. of merchandising.

“This exclusive wireless agreement will further emphasize our commitment to enhancing the consumer electronics experience" Pearse added.
