After many weeks of anticipation, Alltel Wireless has confirmed it will start selling the new Samsung Delve
on Nov. 6 in most of its U.S. markets.
The new handset features an intuitive interface and touchscreen design with QWERTY keyboard.
The Delve is powered by Samsung’s Touch-Wiz interface and offers a new and sleek design.
The TouchWiz interface incorporates "widgets" that allow mobile users to customize and personalize
their wireless phones.
Users can drag and drop widgets onto its main screen and then customize the main display screen to match
the icons of the applications and features they use the most.
Alltel will be selling the Delve at $199.99, after a $100 mail-in rebate.
The new handset also features an MP-3 player, a two-megapixel camera with video capabilities and preloaded
mobile applications such as Alltel's popular Pic Transfer application, Alltel Mobile Advisor, City ID, Collapse
Chaos and Wallpaper Universe.
The Delve sports a 3-inch 240×400 pixels screen, EV-DO support, GPS (works with Alltel Navigation), full HTML
browser and microSD card slot.
Although it’s not a SmartPhone, the device relies on Samsung’s widget-friendly TouchWiz user interface,
which we’ve already seen on such models as the i900 from Omnia and the F-480.
As for the size, the Delve measures 3.89×1.93×0.55 inches and has a weight of 3.35 ounces.
As could be expected, the Delve features full Bluetooth capabilities, an expandable Micro SD memory slot
and a 3.5-millimeter headset jack.
