Verizon is being approached by both Google and Microsoft to carry the respective company’s search
engine on most of Verizon’s devices.
Google reportedly had been in discussions with Verizon since April 2008.
But it's only recently that Microsoft came calling and offered more of a revenue share to the wireless
carrier.
Now Verizon Wireless says it is considering both companies' offers, but that it's too early
to offer any details on any of the proposed deals.
In late September, Google has been trying to wrap up its advertising partnership deal with Yahoo.
But on Nov. 6, Google turned away from the deal because of regulatory conflicts. Yahoo still
hasn't said what its next step will be.
