Nokia is making IBM Lotus Notes Traveler software available to the eighty million global customers of
its 44 models of S-60 phones, the mobile phone maker says.
Nokia Traveler connects to IBM’s Lotus Domino Server and will be available from Nokia in December.
Nokia’s marketing v.p. Soren Petersen says “this is another strong affirmation of our business mobility vision, which is to establish partnerships
with the world’s leading enterprise IT vendors. This collaboration means that about 89 percent of business
emails can be used with Nokia mobile devices, without needing to acquire more servers, new software or licenses.”
Nokia's Traveler is already available for the Apple iPhone and Research In Motion’s BlackBerry devices.
Additionally, Nokia said that IBM already partners with AT&T and Sprint in offering Lotus Notes to their
users as well.
