J.D. Power and Associates says that a little less than 28 percent of all wireless and mobile phone users in the U.S.
don't have a landline phone anymore.
Such statistics confirm what many have been saying for the past eighteen months, and many are expecting this
trend to grow even more next year and for 2010.
J.D. Power says that this is the first time the numbers surpassed the 25 percent mark.
Analyst Kirk Parsons said the overall stats were less than 23.1 percent when the research firm last
checked in April.
Actually, the numbers are 28.9 percent for mobile customers aged 18 to 25, and less than 9.1 percent
for wireless users aged 65 and more.
Parsons also found that Verizon Wireless is the top mobile phone provider in offering what he thinks is the
best customer service.
For 2008, Verizon Wireless topped the list in five of the United States’s six regions.
T-Mobile USA also gained some points in the Southwest region, and has managed to increase its market share
by 2.1 percent in the last nine months.
