Verizon Wireless says it has certified Intertek Group as an independent device testing lab for the
carrier’s wider effort in allowing a wide variety of wireless equipment on its network.
Verizon has been working diligently on this project since June.
David Dennis, Intertek’s v.p. of operations said “we are excited to be part of such a leading edge
initiative, which leverages our expertise and comprehensive testing services, and we look forward in
building upon our long-standing relationship with Verizon Wireless.”
Verizon, in its Open Development Initiative FAQ, said it will certify multiple laboratories for testing
purposes.
Tests will typically last a few weeks and there will be unspecified charges, the company said.
