Verizon Wireless reported a partnership with Dell to offer directly CDMA2000 1x EV-DO PC cards, compatible with Verizon Wireless' network to Dell computer customers.

The companies also said they plan to provide integrated EV-DO capabilities into Dell notebook computers beginning next year.

Verizon Wireless noted the V620 PC card has been tested and validated to work with Dell's Inspiron and Latitude notebooks. The PC card will be available through Dell's Web site for $249 and can be bundled with new systems or purchased separately.

Verizon Wireless' larger rival Cingular Wireless L.L.C. reported a deal earlier this year with Sony Electronics Corp. to integrate EDGE modems into select Sony laptop computers.
