ADC Telecommunications said it will lay off about 225 workers as part of a restructuring program.

In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, the company said the restructuring is an effort to reduce costs.

The layoffs, which have already begun, will cover all of the company’s geographic regions, including Europe/Middle East/Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

ADC employs about 8,200 people worldwide.

The company also said it will close two facilities and consolidate their operations with other locations. The company did not say which facilities it will close.

ADC said it plans to finish its restructuring initiative by June.

The company said it expects to incur costs of between $10 million and $12 million to complete the restructuring.

The majority of the costs will relate to employee termination, with about $1 million going to close facilities.
